There was a battery-powered vacuum cleaner in the hallway, out of the way, that had not been used in years as other vacuums were more powerful. Needless to say, the appliance had been forgotten about (let alone turned on).
Until this little cat who, was and is, full of trouble.
She ventured down the hallway and all of a sudden the vacuum sprang into life with a roar. All of the cats scattered. Leaving the human to try to figure out how to turn the thing off.
Of course, she came back to see what all the fuss was about.
After a year or so of taking a break from yoga, I decided to give it another try. The cats, with ears at attention watched spellbound. Why would the human participate in such contortions?
They remained so, right up until I mentioned that the position was called, ‘Downward Facing Dog’.
Wouldn’t you know it, they all snubbed me, and with tails in the air, departed and left the room. It is difficult to keep a cat transfixed when they feel insulted.
She walked over to the front of the couch and sat down to stare intensely at it. What the heck was she up to? The ears were on high alert and switching positions like radar.
Then without notice a tiny paw shot out from under the sofa. Obviously, one of the other cats was playing hide and seek. A merry dance enusued with jumping, hissing and a pounce or two.
You have to love playful cats. 🙀
