There are times in life when you meet someone special. Someone who brings out the best in you and does it in such a way that you arenāt even aware of it until they are gone. Lord Graydon was such a feline.
What can I meow about him that has not already been expressed by his multitude of admirers? Yes he was dapper (although āIā never saw it). Yes, he mesmerized humans (even mine was disloyally enchanted with him) and yes, he was loved by everyone (including the Widow Patches, whom as I write this, continues to self medicate š±šæāļøš±šæāļø).
No one enjoyed a good laugh more than LG . . . (Especially, at Thanksgiving and Christmas!)
But most of all, his kindness and generosity of spirit stand out as his most ardent character traits. No cat could have been more loved.
This hunky, chunky, Big City Tom knew how to handle his staff too. He may have been a self-appointed āLord of the manorā but keeping the Duke and Duchess on their toes was an art form he mastered beautifully.
After all, beauty was something the grey and white lad prided himself on. As I meow, I only ever thought he was adequate looking but She-š is helping me write this and insists he was full of savoir faire, joie de vivre and we all know his favourite French phrase was . . . je suis tres beau. (āI am very handsomeā. For those Franco-challenged).
This year has been particularly difficult with many furriends going OTRB š and as our late Queen Elizabeth II once, so eloquently, commented, āthis year has turned out to be an āanus horribilisā. (That is the correct spelling, isnāt it?)
The passing of Marshmallow Cheeks is a blow that has shaken the very ground beneath me! Lord Graydon leaves a legacy of honour, dignity and wit. He provided a whole lot of smiles that no other cat ever could. (He made laugh out loud, with his wry observations, most days).
He was a furriend to all and made everyone feel loved. Many a tear has been shed and will continue to do so for a long time, over his loss. He was my pal and I, along with many, shall miss him terribly.
I have put together a short video with the hopes of capturing my pal in all his glory. I have to admit that I struggled to find just the right song to go along with this modest, unpretentious, bashful BSH. (No, I did not choose the song āYouāre So Vainā! š I did consider it, though.) Be that as it may, I think what I chose could not be more fitting.
Things will not be the same without seeing what you get up to, daily!šæ Adieu, mon ami!
Hope you enjoy the video . . .
